Ferrock

Made from recycled steel dust, Ferrock is stronger than traditional concrete and actually absorbs carbon dioxide while curing. It’s still new in India but gaining interest among forward-thinking developers.

Aerated Autoclaved Concrete (AAC) Blocks

Lightweight, excellent insulation, and fire-resistant. These blocks reduce the overall weight of the building and lower air-conditioning needs — something very useful in Delhi NCR summers.

Bamboo

One of my personal favourites. Fast-growing, extremely strong, and flexible. Great for flooring, partitions, and even structural use in low-rise homes. It performs particularly well in earthquake-prone zones.

Hemp Concrete (Hempcrete)

A mix of hemp fibres and lime. It’s lightweight, naturally insulating, and regulates humidity beautifully. Still limited in supply in India, but ideal for walls and roofs.

Rice Husk Ash Concrete

Agricultural waste turned into a strong supplementary material that improves concrete durability. Very relevant for India, where rice production is massive.

Rammed Earth

Ancient technique, modern application. Compacted soil walls offer incredible thermal mass — keeping homes cool in summer and warm in winter. We’ve seen some beautiful modern homes using this in the outskirts of Delhi.

Bagasse Particle Board & Cellular Lightweight Concrete

Bagasse (sugarcane waste) works as a wood alternative for furniture and boards. Cellular lightweight concrete reduces cement consumption and provides good insulation.

Which Materials Work Best in Delhi NCR?

In our experience at Avorix Realty, AAC blocks and recycled plastic products are the most practical choices right now because they are readily available and reasonably priced. Bamboo and rammed earth work wonderfully for independent homes and farmhouses in areas around Greater Noida.
