Major Connectivity Boost

In a move set to redefine connectivity across the National Capital Region, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has officially approved the extension of a 105-metre-wide arterial road to link the city directly with the Ganga Expressway. The decision, finalized during the Authority's 143rd board meeting on May 2, 2026, involves extending the existing eight-lane road from Sector Alpha 2 by 37 kilometers to the Hapur bypass, with an additional 15-kilometer link connecting it to the high-speed expressway.

Once completed, this corridor is expected to reduce travel time between Greater Noida and the Ganga Expressway to just 30 to 45 minutes, providing residents with a direct high-speed gateway to western Uttar Pradesh.

₹6,048 Crore Development Budget

Alongside this infrastructure milestone, the board approved a comprehensive ₹6,048 crore budget for the 2026-27 financial year. The budget allocates ₹1,150 crore for land acquisition and over ₹2,100 crore for ongoing development works, signaling a sustained push toward urban expansion.

Revised Property Rates

However, this growth comes with a new pricing structure; property rates across all categories—including residential, commercial, and industrial—have been increased by 3.58% in alignment with the latest Cost Inflation Index. Under the new rates, residential land now ranges between ₹33,481 and ₹49,588 per square metre depending on the sector.

Urban Infrastructure & Safety Upgrades

To support this expanding urban footprint, the Authority is also prioritizing modern services and disaster management. The board cleared the stationing of a dedicated National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) unit in Sector Omicron 1A and approved the purchase of advanced firefighting equipment for high-rise safety.

Furthermore, a new fleet of 15 electric buses is scheduled to launch next month to provide sustainable transit between key city hubs like Gaur Chowk and Pari Chowk and the upcoming Noida International Airport.
